二、讲座信息

This talk introduces numerical methods for solving natural convection problems with temperature-dependent fluid properties. The first method is the monolithic projection method with staggered time discretization (MPM-STD), which has been shown to accurately predict 2D and 3D Rayleigh-Benard convection under different thermal boundary conditions. Later, we extend the MPM-STD to the monolithic immersed boundary projection method (MIBPM) with staggered time discretization, which has been shown to accurately impose no-slip conditions and exhibit good stability for 2D and 3D forced and natural convection problems. Finally, we released PaScaL_TCS, an efficient and scalable solver for large-scale direct numerical simulations of natural convective flow considering temperature-dependent fluid properties. The solver has been shown to exhibit good strong and weak scalability up to 131,072 cores and has been verified by conducting large-scale differentially heated vertical convection flow simulations under the Oberbeck-Boussinesq approximation.
